Trieste Goulash
  1. In a large pot, sauté the onions in a small amount of oil over low heat until golden.
  2. When the onion is golden, add the beef and brown, turning occasionally to cook on all sides
  3. Dissolve both types of paprika in 1 cup water and add that to the pot
  4. Dissolve the tomato paste in 1 to 2 tablespoons warm water and add that as well.
  5. Add the rosemary, marjoram, and thyme.
  6. Season with salt and cook, covered, over low heat until the beef is very tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Serve warm.
